Universities are often private in the United States. Therefore, the cost of studies is high; however, universities in the United States reward talent by offering scholarships in various areas, for example sport, music, and theatre. 
As an athlete, you can receive scholarships, full or partial, for your athletic skills, your grades, or even for the subject you study.
The amount of scholarship money depends on the budget the university allocates to the athletic department. The scholarship also depends on your basketball skills and your academic past.
